In conversation with Sarah Douglas, Kyla McMillan will speak about her new position as Director of The Armory Show, outlining visions for the fair's next chapter under her leadership.
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

KYLA MCMILLAN
Kyla McMillan is the Director of The Armory Show. McMillan has a wide range of experience in the art world, having experience as an art dealer, gallerist, and consultant. In 2021, she founded Saint George Projects, an itinerant gallery and consultancy, organizing exhibitions and programming in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Paris, Kingston, Jamaica, and Johannesburg. Prior to founding Saint George Projects, she was a director at David Zwirner, New York and Gavin Brown’s enterprise, New York where she focused on artist management and sales.
McMillan also has extensive experience in cultural communications, developing strategy and content for organizations including, Spotify, Adidas, and BMW. Through this work she gained international experience, working with clients in the US, Austria, Germany, and South Africa.

SARAH DOUGLAS
Sarah Douglas has been an art journalist and editor since 1999. Before joining ARTnews and Art in America in 2014, she served as Culture Editor at The New York Observer for three years and launched a highly successful visual art vertical for the Observer called GalleristNY. Prior to Observer, Douglas was a staff writer at Art+Auction magazine, Modern Painters magazine and their shared website Artinfo.com, the latter of which she helped to launch in Spring 2005. Prior to that, for four years she ran the U.S. editorial office of the London-based The Art Newspaper; she has contributed to that publication as well as T: The New York Times Style Magazine, New York magazine, The Economist’s quarterly Intelligent Life and The National, among others. Sarah has participated in numerous conferences about the art market and the art world and has appeared as an expert on shows like Studio 360; in 2013 she was the recipient of ArtTable’s New Leadership award.
