Champagne Pommery
Known for its avant-garde spirit, Champagne Pommery's iconic lead, Madame Pommery, introduced Brut Champagne to the world in 1874. Truly a woman ahead of her time, Madame Pommery maintained a lifelong reverence and appreciation for the arts. Her clear-sighted vision to celebrate the art world included monumental brass sculptures by Gustave Navlet featured in her wine cellars, as well as the commission of the largest-ever sculpted cask, created by Émile Gallé. Madame Pommery also donated Jean-François Millet’s The Gleaners to the Louvre, which is currently on display at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris. Pommery has continued the tradition by opening their Gallo-Roman chalk cellars in 2002 and making them accessible each year in September as a platform for artists to express their talents and create unique works of art for their Expériences Pommery exhibitions. They also continue the tradition by awarding The Pommery Prize in honor of Madame Pommery at the Armory Show art fair for an exceptional presentation within the Platform section of the fair. A widely loved label around the world, Champagne Pommery is renowned for combining innovation and tradition to produce a signature collection of unique champagnes that continue to pay homage to the woman that started it all.
